About Me
I have been a practicing registered social worker for 50 years. Love my work which explains why I am still providing therapy into my semi-retirement years. I believe in the all important therapeutic relationship. Without that connection with that person I serve not much growth or change can happen. I congratulate my clients for making that difficult call to me but then challenge him/her/ them to make change, explore, reflect and discover what they want to do about the issues that brought them to to counselling. The therapeutic principles that I adhere to over the 48 years include: 1- Individualization: based on the right of
human beings to be unique individuals and to be treated as unique. 2- Non-Judgemental attitude- Never pre judging people based on behaviour, race, sex , religion etc. 3- Client Self-Determination: the recognition of the right and need to make there own choices and decisions. 5- Empowerment: Celebrate and promote the client's capacity and capability to
make changes and decisions themselves. I am comfortable journeying with grieving people. I have developed skills working with individuals and groups who have been traumatized. I assisted 1st responders after Swiss Air 111 crash in 1998 and NYPD after Twin Towers Disaster in New York in 2001. For 25 years I worked with London Police and Fire after traumas
